About

The Centennial Tigers were established on a foundation of core values: Tenacity, Integrity, Grit, Empowerment, Respect and Sportsmanship (TIGERS). While winning is always fun, our main desire is to empower women of all ages through sport. We’ve witnessed transformations in countless women by helping improve fitness, building self confidence, and encouraging each woman to be herself.

Australian Rules Football is a full-contact aerobic team sport that started in Australia and gradually grew globally via expats taking up residence around the world and sharing their love for this unique game. As of today, the Centennial Tigers are a women’s team that pulls from the Centennial, Greenwood Village, Englewood, Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker, Castle Rock and Elizabeth cities/towns. We officially formed in 2019 and compete in the national United States Australian Football League (USAFL).

The USAFL is the sole representative of Australian Football within the United States. The USAFL is a grassroots, amateur sports organization dedicated to the development of and participation in Australian football. The organization is focused on the promotion and awareness of Australian Football and Aussie culture and has created a sense of community among USAFL clubs and club members.

The Centennial Tigers are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered with the federal government and the State of Colorado as the Colorado Suburban Australian Rules Football Club, Inc.

Read about how footy has impacted women on our team

I moved to Colorado knowing almost no one, but after one life-changing weekend (Centennial Invitational), I found 30+ cool, brilliant, strong & wickedly fun sisters. Finding this tribe was almost magical.

Not only is Australian rules football an excellent way to get and stay in shape and play a fun, exciting sport, but it also welcomes you into a tight-knit community where you make friends all over the country and the globe.

Amanda Newell

Women’s footy is more than a sport–it’s a movement that inspires athletes to find their inner strength and ferocity. This sport is also unique in that it requires an extraordinary amount of trust on and off the field.
